Financial Assistant
The Financial Assistant supports the ministry of Divine Street UMC by ensuring our financial processes run smoothly, accurately, and with care. This part-time role manages accounts payable, payroll, and regular financial reporting, helping our church steward its resources with transparency and integrity. The position offers flexible hours and the opportunity to contribute meaningfully to the church’s mission through dependable and organized financial support.
Status: Part-time, salaried
Hours: Part time, about 6-8 hours per week. Work hours are very flexible and can be determined in cooperation with applicant.
Benefits: Salary is dependent on level of experience.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for accounts payable and payroll (ADP).
Preparation of monthly nonprofit financial statements.
Bank reconciliations.
Filing monthly financial data.
Assisting in yearly budget preparations and with financial data reporting to Conference.

Manage time effectively, meet deadlines, and communicate proactively.
Qualifications:
Ability to work well with staff, volunteers, and diverse groups within the church.
Strong organizational and clear communication skills.
Proficiency with financial software (QuickBooks, QuickBooks online, etc.) and willing to learn new systems.
Proficiency with Microsoft Excel.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and adapt to changing ministry needs.
